Update: Just drew the winners out of the hat. Congratulations are in order for Barbara Britton and Sandy S! They’ll receive a book from my lovely guest Regina Hart. If you didn’t win this time, I hope you’ll come back another day.
One of my favorite summer time TV shows is Necessary Roughness, which revolves around a female shrink and her pro-athlete patients. I like it because we tend to so glorify these guys who excel on the field without thinking about the fact that off the field they are as messed up as the rest of us. I’m sort of on a summertime sports kick on my blog lately, too. Last week, my guest was V.K. Sykes and her baseball heroes. Today I’m welcoming Regina Hart and her Brooklyn Monarchs hoops team. Enjoy!
Mia, thank you again very much for inviting me to spend time with your community. I appreciate the opportunity to meet your friends and to share with them some information about my latest release, Keeping Score, the last book in my Brooklyn Monarchs trilogy, which I’m writing as Regina Hart.
The Brooklyn Monarchs books are contemporary romances featuring a fictional National Basketball Association team set in Brooklyn, New York. The first book, Fast Break, launches the team’s Cinderella Season with the franchise’s owner and the team’s rookie head coach. The second book centers on the team’s vice president of media and a sports reporter. Keeping Score ends the Monarchs’ Magical Season with veteran baller Warrick Evans and his wife, Dr. Marilyn Devry-Evans. In this story, Warrick’s quest for the championship could cost him his marriage.
Happily Ever Afters. That’s why we love the romance genre, isn’t it? But we sometimes wonder what happens to our hero and heroine after the “happily ever after”? That’s the question I explore with Warrick and Marilyn in Keeping Score. They had their happily ever after – and then somehow their love got off course. Their story is a twist on the reunion hook. They’re still together but they’re fighting to save their marriage.
If you could return to any love story – novel or movie – to see how a couple is surviving the happily ever after, which novel or movie would you choose? Two brave souls who share your secrets with us will get one copy each of Smooth Play, the second book in my Brooklyn Monarchs trilogy.
I really love reunion stories, Regina. Love always deserves a second chance! Thanks for visiting with us, today.
Now it’s your turn! Be sure to share your favorite couple from a movie or book that you’d like to check up on so you’ll be entered in Regina’s drawing.
